Kara is an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant and Certifide Postpartum Doula. Her interest in helping families feed and care for their infants began when she had her own two children. She realized she had a much more fulfilling experience the second time around, thanks to the support she received sooner and more consistently throughout that journey.
She became a La Leche League Leader in 2010 and passed her IBCLC board exam in 2015. She started her IBCLC career in 2015 and then added a Postpartum Doula certification in early 2026. She truly enjoys doing overnight shifts in family homes as a Postpartum Doula with The Newborn Dream Team.
Kara strives to be inclusive of all family types, infant feeding styles, and goals, and to ensure the comfort of the families she serves. She enjoys discussing lactation, infant feeding, solid food introduction, and infant sleep.
She has extensive training and education in assessing tongue ties, the rehabilitation of the tongue and mouth after the release of oral restrictions, feeding and parenting multiples, pumping milk, bottle feeding, infant feeding-related reflexes, and beyond.
